CRATE & BARREL

NATIONWIDE DISTRIBUTION

In 2013, a simple conversation combined with a deep passion for design and metal fabrication turned into something much greater. Working feverishly in his friend’s garage, Austin Bader, produced the prototype that would lead him to establish Bader Art Metal and seal the deal with his first client – Crate & Barrel. Fabricated from 5,200 pounds of steel, 50 pounds of welding wire, hundreds of sanding disks and burnishing pads, gallons of patina and clear coat, along with the blood, sweat, and tears of a small business owner, 750 frames were distributed nationwide. MIG-welded hot rolled steel angle was ground finished, patinaed, and topped off with an automotive-quality clear coat. Corners featured robust mounting bolts capturing the rustic and timeless aesthetic the client desired.
